Diablos win a seesaw battle against the Amarillo Sox 12-8

El Paso, TX- The Diablos come away with their first win of the season, against the Amarillo Sox in a seesaw battle 12-8 win. Tonight's game was the last of the Diablos four game series with the Amarillo Sox, in which the Sox took the series 3-1.

The Diablos got off to another quick start scoring six runs in the first three innings taking a 6-2 lead. Starting pitcher Ryan Bean held of any offensive attack from the Sox, until the fifth inning, where he gave up three runs, where the Sox closed the gap 6-5.

Relief pitcher David Casillas held off any more damage in the fifth inning from the Sox, but the Diablos struggled to hold off Amarillo in the seventh and eighth innings, the Sox eventually took an 8-7 lead going into the bottom of the eighth inning. The Diablos held strong though producing another four run inning, thanks to RBIs from catcher Moises Montero, third baseman Edgar Corcino, and shortstop Maikol Gonzalez to take a 11-8 lead.

The Diablos weren't finished though getting the bases loaded, and striking for one run in the eighth inning, by a Miguel Chacoa RBI, to take the lead and eventual win 12-8. The two star players of the game were shortstop Maikol Gonzalez going three for five, with two RBIs, and third baseman Edgar Corcino going three for three with three RBIs

The Diablos start a three game series with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks starting tomorrow night, 7:05 at Cohen Stadium.
