December 16, 2013 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Waza Flo News Release
They had been looking forward to this re-match the entire week. Detroit WAZA FLO lost to Chicago last Sunday and were ready to get them on their home turf.
"The main point I made all week to the guys was whoever shoots the most, will win the game, " stated Dominic Scicluna, Detroit WAZA FLO Head Coach. "If you look at the score sheet at the end of the night, they shot more than us. That was the difference." The final shots on goal were 27 - 18.
The first three quarters of the game were all Chicago, with Zach Bowman scoring the only Flo goal just into the second quarter. The team came together in the fourth quarter and it felt like they could mount a comeback. With a few minutes to play in the game, score at 5-3, the Flo went to an extra attacker and got a quick goal. Then the teams traded goals and in the last few seconds down one goal, the Flo hit a bullet of a shot that struck the post and spun on the goal line to be scooped up by their goalie to end the game. Final score was 6-5.
Ricardo Lopes had another strong game tallying three goals, with Tino Scicluna and Zach Bowman each with one. Detroit goes to 3-3 on the season.
Here is a great opportunity during the Holiday break to enjoy a WAZA FLO game. They will be playing December 28 vs. Cincinnati at 7:05 p.m. The arena is located at 4300 S Dearborn St, Melvindale, MI.
