Detroit Shock waives 6'5" center Irina Osipova

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Detroit Shock Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Bill Laimbeer announced today that Detroit has waived Russian center Irina Osipova.

The Shock signed the 6-5 rookie center to their roster on May 19, just prior to the start of the 2006 WNBA season. Osipova appeared in two regular season games with the Shock playing nine minutes and scoring two points at Washington on June 3rd and playing three minutes at Phoenix on June 9th. She averaged 1.0 points, 0.5 rebounds, in 6.0 minutes per game.

The Shock roster currently stands at 11 players.
