Detroit Shock News Release

AUBURN HILLS, Mich.---- On Sunday, July 1, for the first time in its nearly 20-year history, The Palace of Auburn Hills will be going to the dogs...literally.

The Detroit Shock and the Michigan Humane Society invite everyone's best friends, and those people who feed, walk and love them, to their game against the San Antonio Silver Stars for the Dog Day of Summer. Tip-off is 6:00 p.m.

The Dog Day of Summer will feature a full array of "canine-friendly" events. Local animal businesses will be on hand to pamper pups and owners alike. In the arena, a special section has been blocked off, appropriately named the "Dog Pound," where Shock fans and their dogs can sit and watch the game.

A Dog Day of Summer ticket package is being offered at $40 and includes two handler seats and one dog "seat" in the Dog Pound, doggy giveaways, hot dogs and admittance to the Shock Dog VIP Lounge.

The Shock Dog VIP Lounge will be featured on Dog Day and will be an area where dogs can receive complimentary grooming, product sampling and owners can get tricks of the trade in obedience training. Dog owners can also get health information from the Michigan Humane Society and learn about doggy CPR from local veterinarians.

All dogs must be kept on leashes throughout the event. Proof of vaccinations must be presented before entrance to Dog Day. An outdoor rest area will be provided for all dogs and owners.

AirMaster is the presenting sponsor for the 2007 Detroit Shock. For more information regarding the Shock Dog Day of Summer, please call (248) 377-0126 or visit www.detroitshock.com/dogday .
