(Southfield, Mich., November 7, 2007) - The Detroit Ignition (1-0) travels to Philadelphia on Saturday, November 10 to take on the defending MISL Champion KiXX (0-2) at 7:05 pm ET and returns home to battle the expansion New Jersey Ironmen (1-1) on Sunday, November 11 at Compuware in Plymouth, MI. Sunday's kick-off is slated for 4:35 pm ET. The Ignition looks to repeat the team's success from last weekend when the club defeated Philadelphia 17-6 in its home opener. Detroit defender Droo Callahan was named MISL Defensive Player of the Week after recording four blocks in the contest.

Detroit Ignition at Philadelphia KiXX: Saturday, November 10, 2007 7:05 pm (ET)

Saturday's meeting with the KiXX will be the second of four matches between the two clubs in the 2007-08 regular season. The Ignition defeated Philadelphia 17-6 in front of a sell-out crowd at Compuware Arena on November 3. The contest will mark the first home game of the season for the defending MISL Champion KiXX, who are looking for their first win of the 2007-08 campaign. The KiXX will face the expansion La Raza de Monterrey in Mexico on Thursday, November 8 at 9:35 pm (ET).

Detroit Ignition vs. New Jersey Ironmen: Sunday, November 11, 2007 4:35 pm (ET)

The Ignition will face the expansion New Jersey Ironmen for the first time on Sunday, November 11. The Ironmen lost in double-overtime last weekend to the Milwaukee Wave (1-1). The contest is the first of four regular-season meetings between the two clubs, and will feature former World Cup goalkeeper Tony Meola, who was named MISL Goalkeeper of the Week on October 29.

LAST WEEK'S OUTINGS:

Ignition 17, KiXX 6 (11/3/07) - The Detroit Ignition defeated the defending MISL Champion Philadelphia KiXX 17-6 in front of a sell-out crowd at Compuware Arena on Saturday, November 3. The contest served as a rematch between the two clubs who last met in the MISL Championship Finals last April.

Ignition defender Jonathan Greenfield scored the Ignition's first goal of the 2007-08 season at 12:35 in the first quarter, a two-point shot off an assist from midfielder Ricardinho. With one second left in the quarter, Detroit forward Hewerton Moreira booted a three-point goal past Philadelphia keeper Peter Pappas. Ricardinho notched an assist on the goal, which brought the score to 5-0.

Hewerton struck again at 8:52 in the second period with a two-point goal off an assist from midfielder Vahid Assadpour. Ricardinho scored the final two points of the half on a power-play, bringing the score at halftime to 9-0.

Ricardinho scored again at 9:19 in the third quarter with a two-point shot off an assist from Hewerton. Midfielder Tony Donatelli put the first points on the board for Philadelphia with a two-point goal at 12:20 in the third. Forward Aaron Susi notched an assist on the goal.

Philadelphia midfielder Angel Rivillo notched a two-point power play goal at 6:10 in the fourth quarter with an assist from forward Don D'Ambra. Rivillo scored again at 9:14 with a two-point shot off an assist from Susi to bring the score to 11-6.

As the quarter came to a close, Philadelphia brought in a sixth attacker. Ignition defender Droo Callahan and midfielder Kyt Selaidopoulos both took advantage of the empty net, each scoring a three-point goal to bring the final score to 17-6.
