Cheryl Ford's first rebound of the game at New York on May 22 gave her a Shock-record 634 for her career. She had been tied with Astou Ndiaye Diatte entering the game. She finished the game with a season-high 18 rebounds and now has 651 for her career.
DOUBLE DOUBLE WIDE FORD
Cheryl Ford scored 15 points to go along with her 18 rebounds, picking up the 27th double-double of her career. Her 18 rebounds were the most by a Shock player since she grabbed 22 during the 2004 season opener at San Antonio on May 22, 2004.
HOW MUCH CAN YOU BENCH
The Detroit Shock bench has outscored the opposition in its first two games of the 2005 season, averaging 27.0 points over that span. In 2004, the Shock received an average of 13.6 points off the bench.
STILL STREAKING
Andrea Stinson entered the game at New York with 5:22 remaining in the first half running her consecutive games played streak to 256. The first 254 of those games came as a starter for the Charlotte Sting.
DESERVING OF A SECOND CHANCE
The Shock scored 26 second chance points against the Liberty Sunday afternoon - the most in franchise history. Detroit has outscored the opposition 42-12 so far this season in second chance points.
