
Details Set for 2012 United Kickoff Luncheon

Washington, D.C. (January 31, 2012) - D.C. United and its charitable arm, United for D.C., announced details for the Tenth Annual United Kickoff Luncheon set for Monday, March 5 at 12 p.m. ET. The event is a fundraiser for United's charitable foundation and will be held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. Fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2012 Black-and-Red players and coaches while supporting the club's local community endeavors.
Presenting and supporting sponsorship are available at $5,000 and $3,000, respectively. Each sponsorship includes recognition prior to and at the event as well as a table at the luncheon. Additionally, table sponsorship opportunities are available for $1,000 each, which allows for nine individuals to sit with a player or coach during the event. Individual tickets are available for $150 per person and spirit tickets, for those wishing to contribute to the foundation, but not able to attend, are on sale for $50. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed under the law. United for D.C. will also host a silent auction at the event, with items available from D.C. United, other Major League Soccer as well as other sports teams and places of business.

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit United for D.C., which was established by D.C. United as a 501 (c) 3 organization in 2002. The non-profit foundation has three signature programs: United Reads which encourages a love for reading and healthy lifestyles in six local public schools; Kicks for Kids, which provides the game-day experience to thousands of at-risk, under-served youth each season; and United Soccer Club, which provides free after-school soccer programming to disadvantaged urban children throughout the greater D.C. area.
