
Destroyers to open home schedule Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Destroyers, presented by Germain, will open the home portion of their 2007 schedule as they host the defending ArenaBowl champion Chicago Rush on Saturday, Mar. 24. Kickoff on Huntington Field at Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m.
Buckeye Football Alumni Night highlights the festivities as Crawford Communities presents Mike Vrabel, Mike Tomczak, Luke Fickell, Dustin Fox, T.J. Downing, Maurice Hall, Gary Berry and other former Buckeyes as they will sign autographs from 6-7 p.m.
Vrabel and Fickell started the 2nd & 7 Foundation in 2000 to help promote literacy throughout Central Ohio. The 2nd & 7 Foundation has helped collect 15,000 books, which have been donated to 35 different schools. Fans are encouraged to bring a second grade level book to donate to the foundation.
Take advantage of the Dispatch/Mix 97.1 Family Night starting at just $66. The package includes four game tickets, four hot dogs, four Pepsi's, four popcorns, one foam football and four Dispatch Ice Haus Skate passes.
The Huntington $10 Ticket Blitz begins opening night and continues for every home game during the 2007 Destroyers season. A minimum of 225 lower bowl seats will be available for $10 at the Nationwide Arena Box Office two hours prior to every home game. The regular price on lower bowl seats is $26.
The Destroyers and partner, Giant Eagle, will team up with the Mid-Ohio FoodBank to TACKLE HUNGER in Central Ohio. Last year, with the help fans, the Destroyers raised enough resources to provide over 27,000 meals to those in need. Fans are encouraged to bring Giant Eagle branded non-perishable food items to all Destroyers home games and receive a discounted ticket.
WE BELIEVE that you can never get enough football. Season tickets for the 2007 season are now available starting at $99 by calling (877) COLS-AFL or by visiting www.ColumbusDestroyers.com. Also for a limited time, fans may purchase a special season ticket package that includes two season tickets, two replica AFL footballs and two Destroyers hats for $198.
