Vancouver Canadians News Release
(Gesa Stadium - Pasco, WA) - Canadians RHP Josh DeGraaf went six strong innings allowing just one run on two hits, but Vancouver's offense went dormant in a 1-0 loss to Tri-City on Wednesday out at Gesa Stadium.
The only run of the game came in the bottom of the 5th inning with 1B Nick Vilter hitting a leadoff double and advancing to third base on a sacrifice bunt off the bat of DH Mason Smith who ended up reaching base when DeGraaf tried getting to ball to Canadians 3B Carl Wise who couldn't apply the tag to Vilter. With runners on the corners and no one out, Tri-City 2B Mitch Morales hit a ball to Canadians 3B Carl Wise who threw it down to 2B Ryan Metzler who dropped the ball before securing it on a force attempt allowing Vilter to score. It would end up being the only run of the inning, and the only run of the game.
