Desperados Trade Parker, Sign Mensch
January 23, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Dallas Desperados News Release
The Dallas Desperados changed up their roster on Friday by trading WR/DB Sirr Parker to the Austin Wranglers for future considerations and signing OL/DL Blaine Mensch.
Parker was a member of last year's Desperados squad but was declared inactive for all 16 games. His athleticism made him a threat with the ball in his hands, but he was unable to crack the lineup.
Mensch is a one-year AFL veteran who spent the 2003 season with the Carolina Cobras. He began last season on the Cobras practice squad before being moved to the active roster prior to the Feb. 9 game at Buffalo. He saw action in 13 games and totaled 4.5 tackles, a pressure, a pass defensed and a fumble recovery. He provides the Desperados with depth at center and nose guard.
