Dallas Desperados News Release

The Dallas Desperados today announced that they have waived defensive specialist Carl Greenwood, placed OL/DL Ben Huff on Reserve/Injured and activated defensive specialist Jermaine Jones from Reserve Exempt and OL/DL Henry Taylor from Reserve/Injured.

Greenwood – in his fifth AFL season – originally signed with the Desperados on Jan. 17 and played in all four Dallas games this spring. He ranks fifth on the team with 8.5 tackles while also posting a tackle for a loss and a missed field goal return for four yards.

The roster spot vacated by the Greenwood move allows the Desperados to activate defensive specialist Jermaine Jones from the club's Reserve/Exempt list. Jones originally signed with Dallas on Dec. 9, but he then signed with the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 11. He saw action in one game with the Cowboys. The Cowboys did not extend Jones a contract tender, thus making him available to re-join the Desperados today.

Ben Huff was placed on Reserve/Injured with right quadriceps tendonitis He has been inactive for each of the Desperados first four games. Taking Huff's place on the active roster will be Taylor, who originally signed with the club on Jan. 2, 2003. After participating in training camp, Taylor was placed on the club's Reserve/Injured list on Jan. 27 with plantar fasciitis.

Both Jones and Taylor will travel with the club to Phoenix this weekend for the team's battle with the Arizona Rattlers on Sunday. NBC Sports will televise the 2:00 p.m. game.
