Chicago Rush News Release

February 28, 2003 – The Chicago Rush announced today that it has placed defensive specialist Marvin Taylor on the Arena Football League's Injured Reserve list with an abdominal strain. The team also announced that lineman Salem Simon has left the team to play in NFL Europe. Simon was placed on Chicago's exempt list.

To replace Taylor and Simon on the roster, the Rush has re-signed FB/LB Levelle Brown and promoted WR/DB Halakilangi Muagututia from the team's practice squad to the active roster.

Rookie lineman Willie Watson (6-4, 290, Bowling Green) has been signed to take Muagututia's spot on Chicago's practice squad.

This week the Rush travels to Buffalo to take on the Eastern Division-leading Destroyers (3-1) Saturday, March 1, at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net Chicago and on Radio Disney, 1300 AM.

Chicago's next home game is Sunday, March 9, against the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Allstate Arena.

Fans wishing to purchase individual game tickets to the San Jose game, or any Rush regular season home game, may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212 or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Allstate Arena box office.

With the Rush playing Saturday evening this week, it means that Arena Football fans in Chicago will get their first opportunity to check out AFL games from around the country through the AFL on NBC. This week the Chicago audience will witness Dallas (2-2), led by quarterback Jim Kubiak, visit Arizona (2-2) and quarterback Sherdrick Bonner, last week's AFL Offensive Player of the Week.
