Desperados Sign Veteran Lineman

The Dallas Desperados signed veteran lineman Corey Mayfield on Friday to add depth to their depleted line corps.
Mayfield â a six-year Arena Football League veteranâ has accumulated 66.0 tackles, 38 quarterback pressures, 15.5 sacks, 11.5 tackles for losses, 11 pass deflections, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions during his indoor career. He spent the first 14 weeks of the 2004 season with the Philadelphia Soul, where he saw action in five games and totaled 2.5 stops, two pass defensed, a sack and half a tackle for a loss. He spent the first five years of his AFL career with the Grand Rapids Rampage, helping lead the Rampage to five consecutive playoff appearances and the ArenaBowl XV championship.

The Dallas Desperados travel to Chicago this weekend to take on the Rush Sunday at 2:00 p.m. The game can be heard on KTCK-AM, SportsRadio 1310 and seen on NBC Sports (ch. 5 in Dallas-Ft. Worth). Dallas returns to the American Airlines Center on Saturday, May 22 to host the Columbus Destroyers at 7:30 p.m. (Dallas time).
