Desperados Sign Two More Receivers

DALLAS, Texas - The Dallas Desperados are bringing in two more receivers to the fold as the team announced the additions of WR Jeris McIntyre and WR Bret Smith on Friday afternoon. Both are AFL rookies.

McIntyre, 6-0, 215, was drafted in the fourth round (195th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. His professional football experience includes three seasons with the Chiefs where he spent time on both the team's practice squad and active roster. In 2005, McIntyre was allocated by the Chiefs to NFL Europe where he played for the Rhein Fire and made 28 receptions for 453 yards (16.2 avg.) and two touchdowns while overseas. Collegiately, he played at Auburn University from 2000-03 where he finished with 69 receptions for 973 yards (14.1 avg.) and four touchdowns.

Smith, 6-3, 195, finished a four-year collegiate career at Tennessee with 83 receptions for 1,100 yards (14.8 avg.) and 14 touchdowns from 2003-06.

The two signings brings Dallas's free agent additions total to 11.

The Dallas Desperados open the 2008 season in a nationally televised game on ABC at the Georgia Force on March 1 at 12 p.m.
