Dallas Desperados News Release
The Dallas Desperados extended their winning streak to four games this past Saturday with a thrilling 62-56 overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Storm. After jumping to an early lead, Dallas had to have a Jason Wells field goal as the clock expired at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime. In the extra period, the Desperados fumbled the opening possession, but were able to force a missed Storm field goal to extend the game. Dallas then missed a field goal of its own, but Tim Martin sacked Tampa Bay quarterback Scott Milanovich on third-and-10 from the Storm 15-yard line, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Andy McCullough at the six-yard line. One play later, Andy Kelly found Shannon Culver in the corner of the end zone with the game winning touchdown.
This week, the San Jose SaberCats â the AFL's only undefeated team â comes to Harrah's Field at American Airlines Center. The SaberCats claimed a 77-54 victory in San Jose just over a month ago in the teams' first meeting. Dallas will not only be looking to extend its four game winning streak (two game home winning streak) but will also be trying to end the SaberCats quest for the AFL's first ever perfect season. Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Desperados begin preparations for the SaberCats this morning at Texas Stadium and will continue through the week.
