Desperados close camp, begin praparing for season opener

After three days of practices with the Los Angeles Avengers were culminated with an intersquad scrimmage Thursday night, the Dallas Desperados will close training camp this weekend with a single practice on Saturday.
The coaching staff will also spend the weekend paring down the roster to the league-mandated 24-player maximum by Monday afternoon. Also on Monday, the team will begin preparations for its season opener against the New York Dragons scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 2. The season opener at Reunion Arena will be televised by NBC Sports â which is in its year of association with the Arena Football League.
