Denver Dynamite Re-sign Dynamic Duo
October 20, 2009 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Denver Dynamite News Release
Denver to see the return of the "Dynamic Duo" of US National Arena Soccer Team Midfielders Tony Thomas and Jay Hamilton for the 2009-10 Professional Arena Soccer League season as announced on Tuesday by the Denver Dynamite.
Hamilton and Thomas have consistently hooked each other up with goals and assists since their early days with the Colorado Predators before the Dynamite re-ignited the professional arena (indoor) soccer scene in Denver. These unselfish, yet skilled acts allowed them to be two of the three top point getters from the team along side Chris Handsor.
Tony, a Metro State (Denver) grad who spent some time on the Boulder Rapids Reserves in the United Soccer League's Premier Development League, led the team with shots while tallying 18 goals for a share of the team's top goal scoring title with former Dynamite player Garth Archibald in regular season play.
Jay, a UNLV grad who also brought some of his experience from training with the San Diego Sockers of the former Major Indoor Soccer League, proved early last season that he could set players up with assist after assist. But when it was crunch time and the Dynamite needed to put together a run to make the playoffs; he dominated the game at Golden against the Strikers; setting the league record with seven of his own goals plus four assists in a single game.
"The re-signing of Thomas and Hamilton is a blessing to this team. These 2 players were a huge part of our success last season. Now, with our other key additions, we have become a more stable and fluid team on the field. I see us possessing the ball in a more controlled style of game in which our fans will certainly see us scoring more goals!" said Technical Director, Chuck Estrada.
The Dynamite will look to capturing their first division and PASL-Pro championship titles when the 2nd season of Dynamite Arena Soccer in Denver gets underway in November. Single game, family four game packages and season tickets are on sale online at www.dynamitesoccer.com.
