December 26, 2009 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Denver Dynamite News Release
The Denver Dynamite suffering a barrage of nagging injuries to players such as midfielder James McMonigle and defender Chad Pearson, signed midfielder Mike Ogletree, who hit the ground running netting a goal and an assist in his debut against I-25 and Mile High Trophy rivals the Ft. Collins Fury.
"Michael is a welcome addition to our team," said Dynamite Head Coach Chris Handsor. "He is a young talented player with potential to become a dominant player in this league. Michael's attributes are his determination to learn the indoor game combined with his ability to play multiple positions."
A recent graduate from Loyola Marymount University, where he played 3 years as a right back Ogletree was invited to both the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA combine. He subsequently was invited to the CD Chivas USA training camp and later signed with the team for the second half of the 2007 season.
Prior to moving to Denver, Michael played for several teams in the Los Angeles area including semi-pro Hollywood United who had a great run in the 2008 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup that included a 3-2 victory over the USL-(United Soccer Leagues 1st Division) Portland Timbers.
"I'm very excited to have this opportunity to play with the Denver Dynamite," said Ogletree. "Coming from Los Angeles, where they don't play much indoor soccer, it's great to be working with such an experienced staff and head coach. While we've had a bit of a rough start to the season, I'm positive we'll bounce back and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and my chance to make a positive impact for the team."
Ogletree has worked extensively with children as a lifeguard, soccer coach at camps and Paul Krumpe Soccer Academy (PKSA), after-school science teacher, and as a private tutor. Michael has been with Elite Soccer Training from the beginning and has trained over 20 children before moving to Denver. In Denver he has been working with Colorado Rush as a trainer for The School of Excellence, as well as the new Dynamite Academy and is pursuing his Masters of Applied Science at the University of Denver.
The Dynamite return to action for the elimination round of the US Open Arena Soccer Championship when they take on the Colorado Springs Cavaliers this Tuesday, December 29th at the Westridge Recreation Center in Highlands Ranch. Game time 7:30PM. $10 General Admission tickets for all ages. $5 tickets with Highlands Ranch Recreation Association ID.
