Denver Dynamite News Release
The Denver Dynamite Professional Arena Soccer Team is proud to announce the launch of its Academy Program starting January 2010.
Over the past two years, the Denver Dynamite has been working towards ways to implement Long Term Player Development while at the same time offering players all levels of play from Club to Select. The process has been a long process in the works but, during the past twelve months the club has finally established a program that will help build the club system into a structure and viable league while at the same time offering players looking for higher level challenges the opportunity to participate in the Dynamite Academy Program.
The Dynamite Academy program is run in conjunction with the Highlands Ranch Community Association and Arapahoe Sports Center. The Dynamite Academy System was developed to start the road to Long Term Player Development for ages 8 thru high school for boys and girls. This will allow the Denver Dynamite to find highly competitive games to be played with players inside the Dynamite Academy. This change is essential for many reasons, but the largest being the focus shifting from being "competition" and winning focused, to focusing on improving the player first, the competition second. As well, the program will offer more opportunities for what we refer to as "bubble players" meaning players that would not have made a competitive team in the past, therefore losing out on some high performance training, to now including those particular players in the Dynamite Academy so they may continue to develop and grow.; therefore allowing us to train more players across all age groups and genders to play at their highest potential for their current development.
"We are pleased to introduce the Dynamite Academy to the public and especially thank the Highlands Ranch Community Association. With the dedication to the community and youth of Denver in general, it made sense to team up with the HRCA. I am looking forward not only in developing great players but a long lasting relationship that will help our youth grow and be positive contributors to this great community." - Technical Director, Chuck Estrada.
Effective December 3, 2009 registration for the Dynamite Academy Program will be open to all players or teams to register into. Due to the current economic environment still lingering both the Denver Dynamite and Highlands Ranch Community Association have worked very closely together to ensure the same high level programming can be brought to the players, but at the same time trying to ensure it is affordable to the general membership. The conclusion that has been drawn during the discussion has allowed both groups to present a very affordable Long Term Player Development structure that encompasses weekly practices coached by or assisted by (for registered teams) Denver Dynamite players and staff such as Academy Director, and 14 year indoor soccer professional, Chris Handsor as well as uniforms and free entry for participants into all remaining 2009-2010 Denver Dynamite Home games.
"I am very excited about being the Director of our Academy! It is a major focus of the Denver Dynamite to aid in the development of our youth and produce a continued cycle top level players! This will benefit both us and the young players in the community. Establishing this academy allows these young players the opportunity to challenge and enhance their physical abilities and their mental focus. It also provides us with a pool of local talent to continue in our efforts of becoming a dominant professional organization." - Chris Handsor.
