Denver Cutthroats Training Camp to Begin on October 7

Denver - With the start of the 2013-14 season just a few weeks away, 28 players will report for the Denver Cutthroats second annual training camp on Monday, October 7.

Veteran players Aaron MacKenzie, Sean Zimmerman, Troy Schwab, J.P. Chabot, A.J. Gale, Phil Tesoriero and Michael Trebish are just a few who will train for their second season with the Cutthroats. While newcomers T.J. Fox, Matt Glasser and Garett Bembridge will take to the ice in an effort to secure a spot on the team's upcoming season roster.

Returning from the Denver Cutthroats open tryouts held in August, are Dustin Henning, Andrew Jasicki, Scott Stafford, Daniel Barnes, Beau Walker and Brent Sands. Colorado natives Henning and Sands don't have far to navigate in order to return to Denver for the upcoming training camp. Meanwhile, players like Stafford and Jasicki will travel the distance from Ontario and Minnesota for their chance to be a part of the Cutthroats second season.

"We are pleased with how the open tryouts went, so much that we have invited six players to our main camp," said Denver Cutthroats Assistant Coach Brad Smyth. "These six players have earned the opportunity to wear the Cutthroats jersey this coming season. The free agent camp has proved to be a great source for us to evaluate talent even further. We look forward to seeing these players compete in the coming weeks."

The Cutthroats training camp will be held from Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10. Players will go through off-ice physicals on Monday, take to the ice for the first time on Tuesday and conclude the camp with the Green vs. White game on Thursday at 4:00 pm at the Denver Coliseum. The game on Thursday, October 10 will be open to the public.

Following the conclusion of training camp, the team will face the Rapid City Rush on Friday, October 11 at 7:00 pm for a preseason game. Tickets to the preseason game are $5, visit or call 866.464.2626. The Denver Cutthroats will then take to the road to face the Rush for a second preseason game on Saturday, October 12 at 7:05 pm.
