Denver Cutthroats News Release

Denver - The Denver Cutthroats welcome centerman Mike Bayrack as the first player signed for the 2014-15 season.

The Edmonton, Alberta native joins the Cutthroats after a stint in Poland with the KH Sanok. He notched three goals and five assists with 26 penalty minutes in 10 games during the regular 2013-14 season. Bayrack played 13 games in the post-season with five goals and 30 penalty minutes.

"Mike is an extremely hard worker, who plays at a high tempo," said Denver Cutthroats Head Coach Brad Smyth. "We will count on him to contribute offensively and provide veteran leadership for our younger players."

In his career, Bayrack played 490 games in the ECHL with 186 goals, 230 assists and 416 penalty minutes. He suited up for 15 games in the American Hockey League with the Grand Rapids Griffins, Norfolk Admirals, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Springfield Falcons.

"I am excited to get down to Denver and play for Coach Smyth," said Bayrack. "I've known Brad for a long time, he is a well-respected player and I'm sure he'll follow through as a coach. He has played at the top levels around the world and is a key factor in my decision to join the Cutthroats."

The Denver Cutthroats will suit up for their third season in October of 2014. Season tickets and mini-plans are available at DenverCutthroats.com or by calling 303.295.3474.
