Bellingham Slam News Release

Bellingham, WA - Tough divisional battles and a visit by NBA legend Dennis Rodman highlight the Slam's upcoming schedule for the next two weeks.

Following a grueling road trip to California last week which saw the Slam defeat the Fresno Heatwave but lose a pair of heated games with the division leading San Jose Skyrockets, the Slam return to Whatcom Pavilion this week with games on Tuesday and Thursday night at 7 p.m. against the Tacoma Navigators, who currently sit three games behind the Slam in third place in the ABA's Boone Division. Bellingham will be looking to defend their home court this week, as any loss would vault Tacoma back into the mix for the division title race currently being contested between San Jose and the Slam. A capacity crowd is expected at Whatcom Pavilion Tuesday night, so fans are encouraged to arrive early. Whatcom Pavilion's doors will open at 6 p.m.

Following the home games this week, the Slam jet to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a single game against one of the ABA's hottest teams, the Florida Pit Bulls. Florida, currently leading their division with a 13-5 record, is led by former NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway, who serves as a player/coach for the team. Hardaway and the Pit Bulls will eventually make their way to Bellingham for a pair of games on February 19 and 21.

But the game that Slam fans have been anticipating all season is coming on Friday, February 3 at 7 p.m. as NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman and the Tijuana Dragons come to town for the first game of a two game series. The second game will take place on Sunday, December 5.

General admission tickets for the game on February 3 against Rodman and Tijuana will cost $15 at the door, but fans can purchase them early for only $10 (or $8 for students and $5 for children) on the Slam's website at www.bellinghamslam.com. A very limited number of courtside seats are also available on the website for only $20.

For more information, call the Slam at 360-734-SLAM or visit their website at www.bellinghamslam.com.
