Columbus, GA - Two home runs by 2B Travis Denker sent the Columbus Catfish (25-28) to an early lead and two runs late earned a third straight comeback victory over the Kannapolis Intimidators (18-33) Thursday at Golden Park.

Denker fired his first shot, a three run blast, in the first inning. It was his eighth of the season. Kannapolis made it 3-2 in the top of the second, but Denker went yard again in the bottom of the inning. The two-run shot, his ninth, gave the Catfish a 4-3 lead. The Intimidators scored two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings to take a 6-5 lead.

With one out in the sixth inning C Conor McGeehan's double started a Catfish rally. He then scored on a triple to deep left-center by LF Adam Godwin. Columbus took the lead when a single by 2B Juan Rivera drove in Godwin.

RHP Matt Gomez de Segura held the lead for his fourth save. The win went to LHP Kale Garrison (1-1), who tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings. RHP Matt Long (3-4) suffered the loss after allowing two runs in two innings.

The series concludes with game four Friday starting at 7:00pm. RHP Joe Jones (0-1, 3.00) will start against RHP Jason Rice (0-3, 2.99). For tickets or more information call (706) 571-8866 or visit www.ColumbusCatfish.com.
