Entering the two game series between the Dayton Demonz and the Watertown Wolves this week people had discussed it as a potential preview of this season's Federal Hockey League Commissioner's Cup finals. Last night's overtime victory with seconds remaining in overtime gave the Demonz a lift and doing it on home ice in front of their fans was a bonus.
Tonight the Demonz showed their championship attitude that led them from a 0-2 hole in the best of 5 series last season to bring Dayton their first championship in over 30 years, by putting 5 unanswered goals on the board in the 1st period.
Demonz won 8-3 tonight over the Wolves. Goalie Dan McWhinney faced 41shots stopping 38 defending the pipes for his 2d win in as many nights.
