Delia Leads Amarillo to Shutout Victory over Topeka

Collin Delia was superb between the pipes for the Amarillo Bulls, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Topeka RoadRunners.

Amarillo was sparked by Tyler Gernhofer, who registered one goal and one assist. Gernhofer scored on the power play 16:42 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Amarillo. An interference penalty on Jasen Fernsler had put the Bulls on the power play. Brendan Vetter provided the assist.

Amarillo put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Topeka to score on any of its four power plays. The Bulls' offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 29.8 shots per game they average.

Amarillo also got a goal from Carter Penzien as well. Other players who recorded assists for Amarillo were Brett Szajner, Roman Ammirato, Brady Ferguson, Cody Gylling, Kyle Gattelaro, and Matt Sieckhaus, who contributed one a piece.

The RoadRunners did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Topeka puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game.

The RoadRunners were led by Tyler Groat, who took three shots.

Delia rejected 25 shots on goal for Amarillo. The Bulls incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. PJ Bridges recorded 31 saves for Topeka. The RoadRunners incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
