K-Wing Forward Jason Deitsch Named Easton Rookie of the Month
Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the United Hockey League, announce that forward Jason Deitsch was selected as the UHL's Easton Rookie of the Month for April.
The K-Wings' Kalamazoo Public Schools Rookie of the Year dazzled in the month of April, racking up 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists) in just eight games.
Deitsch, who finished the regular season by recording a point in 32 of his last 34 games, led all UHL Rookies in points this year with 87 (38 goals, 49 assists).
The Easton Rookie of the Month Award is the second earned by Deitsch this season and the third in team history. Deitsch, who won the award back in February, joins goaltender Joel Martin, who received the award in November 2005, as the only K-Wings to be named Rookie of the Month.
Deitsch and the K-Wings will begin Destination: Colonial Cup this Friday, April 21st, as Kalamazoo hosts the Motor City Mechanics at Wings Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. face-off.
All fans that attend Friday night's Game One will receive a special offer, as the red, white and blue of Pepsi have teamed up with the red, white and blue of the K-Wings to give fans a FREE CASE (24 bottle package) of Aquafina Bottled Water. Also fans that attend Game One will receive a FREE Rally Towel courtesy of Mark Maurer-Mortgage Consultant, McDonalds, and United Kennel Club.
Game two of the series will also be played at Wings Stadium on Saturday (4/22) at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for this weekend's games, as well as all K-Wings' home playoff games in round one are available by calling the Wings Stadium Ticket Office at (269) 345-5101, or stopping by during regular business hours of 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday or on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fans can also order tickets online through www.ticketmaster.com.
