
Defenseman Biondo Commits to The Ohio State University

(Parma, OH)-The Cleveland Barons of the North American Hockey League, are proud to announce that defenseman Nick Biondo has committed to The Ohio State University for the 2005-06 season.
Biondo, a 5'9',185lb defenseman is a native of Parma, Ohio. He currently has 34 pts (12 G, 22A) in 36 games, which ranks him second on the team and second among all defenseman in the NAHL.
Biondo has grown up playing in Cleveland Barons Youth Organization, he joins a list of former Barons that have played at various level in the organization that have donned the Scarlet and Gray sweater, they include: Ian Keserich, Tom Fritsche, Sean Collins, Brian Kaselak and former Buckeye captain Taj Shaffnit. Barons Head Coach/GM Tim Alexander had this to say on the signing: " I've been privileged to watch and coach Nick throughout every level of his career, Nick will be a great addition for Ohio State, his work ethic on and off the ice will lead him to greater things in his hockey career."
Biondo become the third player on the current Barons squad that has committed to a CCHA school this year. Defenseman Steve Silver (Western Michigan) and Jacob Cepis (Bowling Green) have already committed earlier this season.
