Defenseman Baker Re-Signs with Ice Flyers, Forward Holka Returns

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Pensacola Ice Flyers and head coach Rod Aldoff announced the signing of defenseman Drew Baker ahead of tonight's matchup with the Louisiana IceGators. Additionally, forward Joey Holka has returned from his loan to the ECHL's Adirondack Thunder.

Baker, who hails from Alpharetta, Ga., has joined the Ice Flyers for the remainder of the season after spending two stints as an injury fill-in earlier this season. In four games so far this season, Baker has one assist along with 11 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating. In three games with the ECHL's Atlanta Gladiators at the start of the season, he had one assist and a +1.

Holka returns after an extended period in the ECHL, first with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits then with the Adirondack Thunder after being claimed off of waivers. In 27 ECHL games, he scored 3 goals, added 9 assists, and had 12 penalty minutes with a +4 plus/minus.

Baker has been signed to a three-game tryout and left winger Sean Rudy has been released to accommodate Holka's addition to the roster. Baker will wear jersey number 6 and Holka will wear number 18.
