Defense Shines as the R-Phils Drop to Rumble Ponies

The Reading Fightin Phils were shutout at the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 2-0 on Friday night.

Reading recorded six hits throughout the contest. Josh Ockimey had the only multi-hit game.

Binghamton's Ronny Mauricio had a solo shot in the fourth. Their other run came in the sixth when Carlos Cortes doubled home Brett Baty who was hit by a pitch.

Ethan Lindow got the start, throwing five innings of work allowing just five hits and one run on a homer.

Jack Perkins allowed one hit and one run in the sixth.

Tyler McKay pitched two frames, inducing two groundball double plays.

The pitching staff combined for just two runs on eight hits. They allowed no walks.
