INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - For the second time this season, defender Robert Palmer earned Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Team of the Week honors following a Borden Man of the Match performance last Friday against the Tacoma Stars where he recorded two goals and two assists for a total of four points.
Prior to this week, the Kingston, Jamaica native made the Team of the Week after scoring the overtime game-winning tally against Cedar Rapids in the home opener on November 6.
With 14 points (six goals and eight assists), Palmer ranks fourth among all defenders in the league followed by teammate John Sosa with 12 points.
MASL Team of the Week
GK - Juan Gamboa, Dallas Sidekicks: Recorded 28 saves on 35 shots in 9-7 win over the San Diego Sockers.
D - Adriano Dos Santos, Baltimore Blast: Recorded 1 goal and 1 assist in 5-3 win over the Syracuse Silver Knights helping the Blast to improve to 6-0 on the season.
D - Robert Palmer, Missouri Comets: Scored 2 goals and added 2 assists in victory over the Tacoma Stars.
M - Jamael Cox, Tacoma Stars: Scored the game-winner in overtime against the St. Louis Ambush after scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists the night before against the Missouri Comets.
M/F - Gordy Gurson, St. Louis Ambush: Scored 3 goals in overtime loss to the visiting Tacoma Stars.
F - Arthur Ivo, Dallas Sidekicks: Recorded 3 goals, including the game-winner in the Sidekicks 9-7 victory over the San Diego Sockers.
Special Honorable Mention: F- Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista, Chicago Mustangs: Scored two goals in his first game in the MASL helping the Mustangs to victory over the Milwaukee Wave 8-3. Chicago recorded their highest home attendance this season featuring his debut in the league.
