The "Showdown in Salem" was put together, with the cooperation of the Salem Civic Center and Roanoke Civic Center, in order to create a larger local presence for the Dazzle amongst the residents and businesses of the Roanoke Valley.
"When the Roanoke Civic Center approached the team last year about playing a game in Salem, we immediately approached the Salem Civic Center and were able to work out an event and plug it into our schedule." said Dazzle President, Dennis Robarge. "This game opens opportunities for the Dazzle with Salem residents, Salem businesses, Salem City Schools, Salem City Employees and Roanoke College students that the team normally wouldn't have. We are very excited to play this game in Salem."
The first 1000 fans through the gates will receive a special "Showdown in Salem" T-Shirt courtesy of Adelphia, the James E. Taliaferro Sports and Entertainment Complex, Ameriprise Financial practices of Barnes & Associates and Foster and Ham, Express Personnel Services, Carilion, Bank of Botetourt and Servpro.
