ROANOKE, Va., Feb. 28 - Anthony Grundy scored a game-high 33 points in leading the Roanoke Dazzle to a 126-123 victory over the Fort Worth Flyers at the Roanoke Civic Center.

In a game that featured the NBA Development League's top offensive team, Roanoke, versus the top defensive team, Fort Worth, the Dazzle's offense was able come out on top in a high-scoring affair.

"It's just one game," said Dazzle Head Coach Kent Davison. "But it was against the hottest team in the league. It gives us a big boost towards the playoffs."

In the first quarter the Flyers' defense looked as though it might rule the night, by holding the Dazzle to 38.9% shooting in the quarter and taking a 30-22 lead after one.

The Dazzle offense woke up in the second quarter, with Grundy leading the charge scoring 10 points in the frame. The Dazzle were able to cut, what was a 15 point lead for the Flyers, to seven at the end of the first half, 61-54.

In the third quarter Dazzle forward Isiah Victor found his offense scoring 17 points in the frame, on an array of jump shots and driving buckets in the lane. However, it looked as though the Flyers would maintain their seven point edge heading into the fourth, until Grundy hit a three-pointer as time expired cutting the Flyer lead to four, 90-86.

Momentum would stay on the Dazzle's side in the fourth quarter, with Grundy giving the Dazzle their first lead of the game with a three-point play at the 4:18 mark of the quarter. The lead would change hands two more times after that, but a Will Bynum lay-up would give the Dazzle the lead for good with just under two minutes to play. The Dazzle would hit five of six free-throws late to ice the 126-123 victory.

Flyers Head Coach Sam Vincent was disappointed with his team's loss saying, "We didn't play as well as we have been playing. We can attribute that to the fact the Roanoke did a great job defensively, and offensively."

The Dazzle had four players reach double figures in scoring, with Grundy leading the way with 33, Victor chipped in with 30, Will Bynum put up a double-double with 23 points to go with a game-high 11 assists and Peter Ramos had 13.

Seven players reached double figures in scoring for the Flyers. Aaron Miles led the way with 20, Josh Powell had 18, Ime Udoka chipped in 17, Luke Schenscher had 16, Kelenna Azubuike dropped 15 while both Von Wafer and Keith Langford had 11 points.

With the win the Dazzle extend their win streak to five games and are 18-16 overall. The loss ends the Flyers own five game win streak and drops them to 22-13 overall. These two teams will play each other again on Wednesday night at the Roanoke Civic Center.
