Daytona Beach Thunder News Release

BOTTOM LINE: The Daytona Beach Thunder had their second official practice today at Mulberry Field in Daytona Beach.

ON OFFENSE: WR Robert Bailey ran crisp routes, QB Travis Wilson remained sharp and the offensive line led by Tommy Moody and Steve Canidate is clicking, said Head Coach Ervin Bryson.

"Bailey is focused, he has a purpose to get to the next level and he is really showing it. Travis Wilson is reading the different defenses very well. The offensive line as a whole did a great job blocking. They are working together much better today," Coach Bryson stated.

ON DEFENSE: DB Nick Allison struggled at first, but got into the swing of things as practice progressed.

"He began to adjust to the ball very well," Bryson said. "Nick has also has become a leader to the younger defensive backs."

THE LOCALS: DeLand's Dee Patrick bounced back from a rough first day's practice.

"Dee was firing off the ball and avoiding blocks to make some good plays," Bryson said.

ABSENT WITH LEAVE: WR/DB Joe Giddens did not practice Thursday as he was coaching his Spruce Creek Hawks girls basketball team to a 57-51 victory over Gainesville Buchholz in the Class 6A-1 region quarterfinals. Since Spruce Creek, Giddens will miss practice when the Hawks play again Tuesday.

NEXT PRACTICE: Friday at 6 p.m.
