Dayton Gems Fall To The Quad City Mallards 4 - 2

The Gems traveled to the I-wireless center in Moline Illinois to take on the Quad City Mallards. Dayton held Quad City through the 13 minutes of play when the Mallards' Lipsett scored the 1st goal of the game. During a Mallard powerplay almost 5 minutes later Quad City's Stal found the net and the opening period would end with the Mallards ahead 2 - 0. In the 2nd Kindle of Quad City would find the goal on a powerplay and Mallard Lipsett would add another score this time short handed. The Gems would send the puck into the goal in the 3rd when Corey Couturier put the team into the game with the help of Adam Maccarone and Tim Hartung. With less than 3 minutes left Hartung would score with assists from Adam Maccarone and Couturier. The Gems would outshoot the Mallards 39:35. Final score Quad City 4 - 2.

Wednesday, March 31st at 7pm when the Gems meet the Muskegon Lumberjacks at Hara Arena the Gems will recognize the folks who work so hard to serve our food. Groups from all area restaurants are invited and are welcome to bring their mascots.
