Dayton Gems Defeat Flint Generals 3-1, Keeping The Streak Alive

At Hara Arena tonight the Dayton Gems continued their streak of victories against the Flint Generals3-1 Both teams managed to keep the other at bay during the entire first period of the game tonight.Only 2 minutes into the second period forward Jonathan Ornelas scored a goal for the Gems, but half-way into the same period the Generals responded with a goal of their own, tying it up for the remainder of the second stanza.As the third period began, within 4 minutes forward Tim Hartung scored another goal for the Gems, and after a heated battle back-and-forth across the rink. Less than 4 minutes before the end of the game in a Gems power play forward Matt Auffrey scored the final goal of the evening, resulting in the 3-1 victory over the Flint Generals.

During the first intermission the Dayton Gems featured an all-star cast of famous mascots ranging from Wendy of Wendy's to Max and Erma from Max and Erma's, as well as the Burger King, the Frickin' Chicken and more participating in a massive dodgeball free-for-all, resulting in our home team of mascots winning against the visitorsmascots

Thanksgiving week continues with the Gems teaming up with The Foodbank. Fans may make adonation of a non-perishable for The Foodbank and their admission will be reduced to only $5. Hara will be waiving the parking fee for all games during Thanksgiving week.

Promotions continue Wednesday with Dollar Beer Wednesday (all Wednesdays will be Dollar Beers through out the season) when the Gems take on the Bloomington Prairie Thunder.

Friday, as the Gems strive to streak the Flint Generals it's a night for Wizards and Muggles - Harry Potter Night. Prizes will be awarded for best Harry Potter character costume.
