Dayton Dutch Lions News Release

DAYTON, Ohio - The Dayton Dutch Lions FC (2-6-2, 8 points) is travelling to the West Coast for a three game trip against the Orange County Blues (Saturday), LA Galaxy II (Sunday) and Arizona United SC (Wednesday).

The Dayton Dutch Lions FC is coming off a tough 1-0 loss against the Rochester Rhinos and are in need of some points to stay in the race for a play-off spot. Both Orange County as well as Arizona is a direct competitor for these spots right now so it is crucial for the Lions to bring back some points.

Head Coach Sid van Druenen commented on the upcoming first two games: "we are in a position where we need the points to be able to compete for playoffs and this makes this first game against Orange County Blues a very important one for us. We have to worry about ourselves and improve on some things fast in order to start winning games. A win in this first game is crucial but I feel that the boys are hungry for it. The second game is against the LA Galaxy II. We played them before this season and got a good 1-1 draw out of it. The Galaxy is a team that tries to play soccer and that suits us. This is our second game in two consecutive days so I expect to see some new faces and I hope the legs are fresh enough to put together another solid performance against a very good team."

After the three game trip the Lions stay on the road to play Rochester Rhinos on Friday June 20 before returning home on Sunday June 22 against the current leader Orlando Lions.
