Dayton Dutch Lions FC and Columbus Crew Prepare for Battle of Buckeye State

Dayton Dutch Lions News Release

DAYTON, Ohio - The Dayton Dutch Lions FC of USL PRO and Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew are the only two professional soccer teams in the state of Ohio. Area soccer fans will be presented with a real treat when the two teams meet at Beavercreek High School on Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 PM.

The fortunate twist in scheduling comes as a result of an affiliation between USL PRO and the MLS Reserves that was announced earlier this spring. Every USL PRO team will play at home and away against an MLS club, and the results will count in the USL PRO standings.

Another recent announcement serves to prove that soccer schedulers are smiling on Ohioans. The Dutch Lions are slated to compete against the Dearborn Stars in the second round of the U.S. Open Cup in Beavercreek on Tuesday, May 21 at 7:00 PM. Should Dayton manage to advance to the third round, they will face the Columbus Crew regulars in Crew Stadium on Wednesday, May 29.

The stages are set for battles of soccer supremacy in the Buckeye State. This might be the chance for soccer fans to witness the birth of an intrastate rivalry. Information and tickets for Dayton Dutch Lions FC home games are available at www.dutchlionsfc.com.
