
Dayton Bulldogs Lose to Riversharks

DAYTON , OH - Despite a tremendous first half, the Dayton Bulldogs lost to the Tennessee River Sharks at home Thursday night. The final score was Tennessee 56-52.
The scoring started when Bulldogs' Quarterback Antonio Davis threw a 29 yard touchdown pass to Receiver Anthony Tyus only two minutes into the first quarter. The Davis/Tyus connection went on to score two more touchdowns in the first half, and Tyus totaled 150 receiving yards for the game. Davis threw another three touchdowns to Receivers Deyshawn Jones, Lance Wilson, and James Frazier. By the end of the game, Davis had thrown for 311 yards, and he was the lead rusher with 22 yards.
Running Back Dontai Horton had the only rushing touchdown for the Bulldogs.
Most of the Bulldogs' offensive action happened in the first half of the game. The score at half time was Bulldogs 45-24.
On defense, Bulldogs' Defensive Back Joseph Brooks led the team with a total of five solo tackles. Defensive Back Eric Samuels recorded three solo and three assisted tackles, and Linebacker Matt Quinn had two solo and three assisted tackles. The only interception of the game went to Bulldogs' Defensive Back Shawn Dawkins.
In the second half, the River Sharks came back to score five touchdowns. Their defense held the Bulldogs to only one touchdown in the third quarter.
