OKLAHOMA CITY YARD DAWGZ (1-2) at Dallas Vigilantes (0-2)
Friday, April 30, 2010 - American Airlines Center 7:30 P.M. CST
The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz take on the Dallas Vigilantes, Friday, April 30, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CST. This game marks the first meeting between the Yard Dawgz and Vigilantes.
The Yard Dawgz head into Friday's match up after a disappointing loss to the Iowa Barnstormers (68-60). The Dawgz defense is currently ranked 4th in scoring defense, 4th in total defense and 3rd in pass defense. The Vigilantes defense also comes into the match up highly ranked. They are currently ranked 6th in scoring defense, 3rd in total defense and 4th in pass defense.
Yard Dawgz Head Coach Sparky McEwen commented, "We know that this will be a huge task and we are playing arguably one of the most talented teams in the league and more importantly a divisional opponent. They will be tough to defend. We will have to be at our best in all phases of the game, offense, defense and special teams, in order to defeat the Vigilantes."
Due to injury, the Vigilantes' starting quarterback, Shane Stafford, was unable to play in the game against the Tampa Bay Storm in week 3, which called for Collin Drafts to step into his shoes. Drafts put up decent numbers, but turnovers cost the Vigilantes the game. Stafford will miss this week's game as well. The Vigilantes are hoping to fix these miscues and get their first win of the season when they host the Dawgz this Friday in their home opener.
