Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY- The Yard Dawgz hosted the Arkansas Twisters for what turned out to be a high-penalty and high-stressed meeting. The Twisters came out on top, 58-28, after a hard fought battle and improved to 11-4 on the season.

The Twisters got on the board twice in the first quarter when QB Brian Villanueva connected with WR Jon Schoonover and when FB Terrance Freeney powered into the endzone. The Dawgz offense was unusually quiet during the first quarter and were held scoreless by the Twisters.

WR Jarrail Jackson was the first Yard Dawg to make an offensive impact with a 5 yard run into the end zone. The Twisters scored again quickly when WR Robert Kilow made a diving catch over defender Dawon Gentry in the endzone. The Dawgz and Twisters traded scores to finish the first half with Arkansas leading 28-14.

The second half was jam-packed with penalties but the Twisters had no trouble getting on the board with several completed passes from Villanueva to Kilow and to Jamie Goodwin, and a 3 yard run by QB Davon Vinson. The Dawgz scored only once in the third quarter when FB Alan Krutulis ran the ball 1 yard into the endzone to bring the score to 42-21 Arkansas.

The fourth quarter was dominated by Arkansas as they scored three times compared to Oklahoma City's one score. The Twisters finished the night with only 169 total offensive yards and 10 first downs.

Schutt Offensive Player of the Game, Arkansas' Brian Villanueva, went 12-of-28 with 148 yards and 4 TDs. Oklahoma City's Stan Hill went 30-of-47 for 231 yards and 2 TDs. In his effort, Hill broke the single season franchise record for pass completions and is only 40 yards away from becoming the leading Yard Dawgz single season passer.

Oklahoma City's Fred Shaw was awarded the U.S. Ironman of the Game for his effort. Shaw had 2 receptions for 12 yards, 1 TD, and one interception.

To end the regular season, the Yard Dawgz will host the Lubbock Renegades on July 28th at 7:05 p.m. on Compassionate Care Hospice Field at the Ford Center. Tickets start at only $10 and are available in the Ford Center Box Office or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
