April 12, 2005 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Elgin Racers News Release
WATERLOO, IA-- The Windy City Dawgs of the International Basketball League (IBL) won its first ever game tonight with a 108-106 victory over the Waterloo Kings at the University of Northern Iowa. Dawgs forward Marlon London was the hero hitting a game-winning three-pointer as time expired.
"This was a huge win for us," said Head Coach John Bagley. "To go on the road and come away with a win in dramatic fashion like that is really a great way to start the season. I was satisfied with our effort tonight as a team."
The Dawgs (1-0) will hit the road again next weekend with games at Des Moines on Friday (Apr. 15) and a rematch at Waterloo on Saturday (Apr. 16). Windy City will open its home schedule against Battle Creek on April 22 at Harper College in Palatine, Ill. The Dawgs will play a 22-game schedule (11 home, 11 away) during the inaugural 2005 campaign.
The Dawgs are running a "Kid's Season Tickets Free" ticket offer. Any fans purchasing season tickets (just $90) can receive up to two kid's season tickets free ($100 value). For season tickets, call the Dawgs office at 847-359-DUNK.
