San Diego Surf Dawgs News Release

SAN DIEGO, CALIF - The San Diego Surf Dawgs have formed a partnership with the Helen Woodward Animal Center to support them in raising awareness of animal abuse. The Surf Dawgs will be raising money for the organization through the month of August as HWAC prepares for their HOPE Telethon in which players and staff will be answering phones during televised coverage.

The Helen Woodward Animal Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to unique programs where people help animals and animals help people. The center runs multiple programs including a Pet Adoption Facility which is committed to finding homes for 2,000 orphaned dogs and cats each year. Their no-kill philosophy and innovative pet placement program has served as a model for animal organizations around the world.

"I am pleased to support the work that the HWAC is doing in the community and am excited to have them at the ball park," said Juliana Paoli, Surf Dawgs General Manager. "This is a natural partnership that we are proud to be apart of."

Helen Woodward Animal Center Day at the Dawgs will be on Saturday, August 13th at Tony Gwynn Stadium. HWAC will have four dogs which are up for adoption at the game. These lovable pets will be the stars of the show as they are to be introduced to the Dawgs' fans before the game.
