Davis, Frazier returning to Silverbacks in 2008

The Miami Valley Silverbacks added to their offensive firepower by re-signing running back Eddie Davis and wide receiver James Frazier for the 2008 season.

The Silverbacks are coming off their first playoff appearance last season and enter 2008 as the longest running professional indoor football team in the history of the Miami Valley.

Davis, 5-foot-10, 205-pounds, was a load for opponents to deal with last season at running back. Davis led the team in rushing and has continued to build on the talent he brought to the field in 2007.

"Eddie is a huge sign for us," Silverbacks coach Carl Allen said. "He was the leading rusher for us last season and he's coming into this season bigger, faster, and stronger."

Frazier was part of a potent core of wide receivers for the Silverbacks last season. Teaming with George Murray and Billy Back, the 6'4" 230-pound receiver was a force to be reckoned with in 2007.

"James is that big wide receiver that every coach dreams about," Allen said. "He's a deep threat but can also out leap anyone. "James is a definite threat in the redzone."

The squad will be holding their second player tryout on Dec. 9 at Englewood Indoor Soccer Complex while the Silverbabes will be holding tryouts on Dec. 8 at the Dayton Academy of Gymnastics.
