Chicago Wolves News Release

Chicago Wolves forwards MICHAEL DAVIES, TYLER SHATTOCK, and SHANE HARPER will appear at Chicago-area libraries on Tuesday, Feb. 18, as part of the 19th season of the "Read to Succeed" program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E., Call 811 Before You Dig.

Davies, a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate, will appear at both Prospect Heights Public Library and Elk Grove Village Public Library. His first program will begin at 4 p.m. at 12 N. Elm St. in Prospect Heights.

Following that he will meet with participants at 7 p.m. at 1001 Wellington Ave. in Elk Grove Village.

Shattock will make appearances in River Grove and La Grange. His first program will start at 4 p.m. at River Grove Public Library, located at 8638 W. Grand Ave. He will start his La Grange Public Library program at 6:30 p.m. at 10 W. Cossitt Ave.

Harper will appear at the West Chicago Public Library District. His program will start at 4:30 p.m. at 118 Washington St. in West Chicago.

The "Read to Succeed" program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. The players will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and discuss how it plays an important part in their lives as professional athletes.

Participants can win prizes -- including Wolves hats, beanie pucks, and tickets to upcoming games -- for setting and achieving reading goals.

Throughout the season, more than 17,000 children will participate in the program, with Wolves players making appearances at select libraries throughout the Chicago area.
