David Maier Named to Austria's World Junior Championship Team

(Peterborough, ON) - The Austrian Ice Hockey Federation recently announced that Petes defenceman David Maier has been named to Austria's Under-20 National Team.

The team will compete in the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship Division I Group A (D1A) tournament to be held in Minsk, Belarus from December 9 to 15, 2019. Other teams taking part include host team Belarus, Denmark, Latvia, Norway, and Slovenia.

Maier, who has 14 assists in 27 games with the Petes this season, suited up for Austria in both the 2018 and 2019 D1A tournaments in which he registered 5 assists in 10 games. He has also twice been a member of Austria's Under-18 team, winning a silver medal at the 2018 D2B tournament and recording 2 goals and 7 assists in 10 games.
