OTTAWA – Veteran Canadian Football League quarterback Dave Dickenson will tour the Nation's Capital on Tuesday in a visit to discuss his potential future with the Ottawa Renegades.

The tour will include a visit to Frank Clair Stadium to meet with members of the Renegades coaching staff.

Dickenson, awarded the CFL's Most Outstanding Player award for the 2000 season, will also attend Game 2 of the National Hockey League Eastern Conference Final at the Corel Centre between the Ottawa Senators and the New Jersey Devils. Brad Watters, Renegades president; Eric Tillman, general manager; and Renegades coach Joe Paopao will accompany Dickenson at the game.

"After a lengthy discussion with ownership, Joe and I decided to extend this invitation to Dave," said Tillman. "We are understandably pleased that he has accepted, and look forward to having him see first-hand why we feel this city and franchise have so much to offer.

"We can only hope this will be viewed in the proper context. As we have stated on many previous occasions, we are very excited about the potential of our current group of young quarterbacks," added Tillman. "If these discussions with Dave go no further, we certainly are very, very comfortable going to camp in two weeks with this group.

"That said, given Dave's record of accomplishment, and the mutual interest that was expressed during our weekend conversations, we felt it was wise to take this next step. As the old saying goes: Nothing ventured, nothing gained."
