Minot Skyrockets News Release

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - June 30, 2007 - Yesterday marked the end of the XV Pan American Games held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Pan American Games bring together athletes from the countries of the Americas in a festival of sport and international friendship. The Games are held every four years in the year preceding the Olympic Games. During the 16 days of Rio 2007, 5,662 athletes from 42 countries in the Americas competed in 41 different sports. Among those competing was the Minot Skyrockets' own Darnell Miller.

Miller played point guard for the Skyrockets in their first season and then competed overseas in France. For the Pan American Games, he played with the US Virgin Islands national team, as his ancestry originates from the Islands.

"I am glad Darnell is continuing to play every opportunity he gets. Events such as this give him an opportunity to showcase his ability on an international level and gain quality experience. It is also a great honor to play for your national team," said Skyrockets Head Coach Chris Daleo.
