
Darius Vines Named Southern League Pitcher of the Week

PEARL, MS - Major League Baseball announced that starting pitcher Darius Vines has been named the Southern League Pitcher of the Week.
Vines, 24, tossed seven shutout innings on Friday against Biloxi. The right-hander gave up just two hits and three walks with three strikeouts. He tied his career high with seven innings for the second time in three starts. Vines is the first M-Braves pitcher to earn the honor.
Atlanta's No. 13 prospect holds a 4.95 ERA and leads the Southern League with 89 strikeouts and 76 1/3 innings pitched in 15 starts.
The Atlanta Braves drafted Vines in the seventh round of the 2019 MLB Amateur Draft.
