
Cade Bunnell, Darius Vines Named Farm Bureau Player & Pitcher of the Week

PEARL, MS - The Mississippi Braves and Farm Bureau are excited to announce that infielder Cade Bunnell and starting pitcher Darius Vines have been named the Farm Bureau Player and Pitcher of the Week.
Bunnell, 24, posted a 1.378 OPS in five games against Biloxi. The infielder hit .375 with a home run, a triple, two doubles, four RBI and seven walks in the series. On Sunday, July 3, he went 3-for-5 and finished a single shy of the cycle while smashing his first Double-A home run.
In seven games with the M-Braves, Bunnell is batting .375 with a home run, five extra-base hits and four RBI. Atlanta recently promoted the infielder from High-A Rome on June 28.
Atlanta drafted Bunnell in the 40th round of the 2019 MLB Amateur Draft from Indiana University.
Vines, 24, tossed seven shutout innings on Friday against Biloxi. The right-hander gave up just two hits and three walks with three strikeouts. He tied his career high with seven innings for the second time in three starts. His performance earned him Southern League Player of the Week.
Atlanta's No. 13 prospect holds a 4.95 ERA and leads the Southern League with 89 strikeouts and 76 1/3 innings pitched in 15 starts.
The Atlanta Braves drafted Vines in the seventh round of the 2019 MLB Amateur Draft.
