Danger Kick off Season against Titans Friday Night

February 22, 2018 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Nebraska Danger News Release

The Nebraska Danger kick off their 2018 season Friday, February 23rd against the Cedar Rapids Titans, and it will be a season filled with the word "new" for both teams. Not only do the rosters typically see a significant turnover from year-to-year, but in 2018 both the Titans and the Danger will be sporting new head coaches.

Mark Stoute is replacing Hurtis Chinn as head coach for the Danger, while Marvin Jones is taking over the Titans as Iowa Hawkeye legend Marvin McNutt departs as head coach to become the team's General Manager.

2017 couldn't have gone more differently for the two teams, as the Danger completed a 9-7 regular season, which was good enough to get them to the IFL playoffs before losing to eventual champion Arizona.

The Titans didn't fare as well, going 1-15 in 2017. They still saw bright spots in their backfield as quarterback Brion Carnes was second in the league in passing, throwing for more than 170 yards per game, while tallying 55 touchdowns - also good for second-best in the league.

Last season, the Danger made its impact defensively and in the running game as they finished third in the league in rushing yards per game. However, with a new coach and new roster, the Danger look to shake things up in a revamped IFL.

Kickoff is set for 7 pm on Friday night at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, with Ag Appreciation Night as the feature. Doors open at 6:00 pm with pre-game activities beginning at 6:30.

Tickets for Friday night are available at area Pump & Pantry stores, the Heartland Events Center Box Office, or via Ticketmaster. The game will be broadcast live on 2DayFM 103.1, or streamed live at www.2dayfm1031.com with live video available at DangerFootball.com/Watch.

Following the game, an autograph party with Players and Coaches will take place on the Danger turf.
